WHO KNEW?  PAWSITIVELY CUTE, THE PLANE TRUTH & A NEW PERSPECTIVE

10/15/2015

When I’m not out traveling the globe, I’m often home surfing the World Wide Web preparing for my next trip or my next blog post.  With a trillion pages of news, nonsense and narratives, Alice has nothing on my rabbit hole.  Who knew the World Wide Web could be such a mad tea party!

Crumpets are on the house, as are the following web wonders.
PAWSITIVELY A PICK-ME-UP

If you’re a cat lover, you undoubtedly know just how cute and amusing these furry, four-legged creatures can be.  Almost as cute as dogs, right?  Regardless of which camp you pitch your tent, you might find it interesting to learn that according to one university study watching videos of felines in action results in a psychological ‘pick-me-up.’   Who knew?

You can check out the Indiana University study conducted by assistant professor of media, Dr. Jessica Gall Myrick, at this link.  Or you can simply fast forward to these amusing cat videos courtesy of Animal Planet and feel pawsitively better for doing so.

THE PLANE TRUTH

Given this is a travel blog, I felt compelled to share a bit of travel related items to cover all the bases.  There’s Reader’s Digest’s, 13 Things Airlines Won’t Tell You; Airfare Watchdog’s, What Your Flight Attendant Really Thinks of You; and if you’re a regular on Southwest Airlines, perhaps you were in the audience actually listening to flight attendant Marty Cobb’s hilarious version of the dreaded in-flight safety demo.  Check it out, but not before buckling your seat belt.

"Cloudgate" aka, the Bean, offers a new perspective on the city of Chicago.
A NEW PERSPECTIVE

I’m not surprised this U.S. destination ranked #2 in Trip Advisor’s Travelers' Choice Award for 2015.  Then again, I admit to being partial to the city of Chicago.  The Windy City is, after all, in my back yard; all the beautiful architecture, all the cultural advantages, all the festivals and food, and all 28 miles of stunning lakefront.

But if you need more convincing Chicago is truly magnificent, perhaps a new perspective is in order.  This breathtaking footage of Chicago from Colin Hinkle should do the trick.

Warning!  If you're acrophobic, you might want to skip this unique Chicago tour and try this heavenly alternative.  Either way, make sure to turn up your sound.

Nice! Especially enjoyed the view of Chicago, but must say it was more enjoyable with you & Jim as our guides. The personal touch trumps everything.

I recently read SW also has more legroom than most competitors!
