Getting up off the couch or away from my desk to make it to the gym is the toughest part of exercising (okay, maybe not quite as bad as 30 minutes on the elliptical). Once the errands, the laundry, the packing and the driving to the airport or my destination are out of the way (along with the airport security friendly types), I’m always glad I pushed past the physics of ‘a body at rest tends to stay at rest’ and opted for moving to the next level, adventure.
Like exercise, travel always makes me feel 10 years younger (at least until I hit the sack at the end of a full day and have to listen to every muscle in my body complaining about their part in making this party a success).
The pictures of my partying may make me look 10 pounds heavier but that’s all muscle now anyway; the kind that keeps my brain sharp, my conversation interesting and my personality
bubbly (sans liquid incentives that put the years back on as rapidly as I work to get them off). At least that's what I like to believe.
Anyhoo, if you haven’t guessed by now, Jim and I are off in search of a little more adventure (and a lot of walking, i.e. exercise!) today. While we make the circuit of the machines (along Chicago’s lakefront no less), enjoy your weekend and these parting shots of what really keeps me feeling young; my over active ability to find the humor in almost everything.
