According to the latest Gallop poll, 50% of my Illinois neighbors are ready to move elsewhere. Former Illinois governor Rob Blagojevich moved elsewhere; our loss is Colorado’s Penal Institution’s gain.
Most Coloradans, on the other hand, are more than happy to stay put in the Mile High State. John Denver was obviously way ahead of his time with his ‘70s pop culture hit, Rocky Mountain High.
It’s high time Jimmy and I moved to Colorado; or Montana, or Maine, if Gallop truly has the goods on where Americans prefer to stay put. Apparently some of us have a rather short attention span when it comes to harsh winters. I hope to sit the next one out in, say, Hawaii, where Gallop and I can agree to stay put.
Not to worry, now that spring is here and summer is on the way.
On this first Friday in May, officially International Space Day (whoa; fly me to the moon), I have some Fun Fotos coming your way, too.
It’s also International Tuba Day (I love a parade!); and No Pants Day (it’s boxers or briefs, eh? Please, no thongs!); and Scurvy Awareness Day (orange you glad you don’t have a vitamin C deficiency?); and World Tuna Day (sounds fishy to me); and National Truffle Day (bring it on!); and Robert’s Rules of Order Day (let’s vote on it!).
I say we dispense with ceremony and simply seize the day! One; two; three; GO!
