My daughter, Jennifer, her husband Thomas, and their little ones, Grace and Grant, are all leaving today, headed for their new home 20 minutes away. As usual, life’s pivotal moments are often bittersweet.
I will miss the sweet sounds of my grandchildren heralding the new day (sometimes at 5 in the morning), from the pitter patter of bare feet on the hardwood floors to the excited chatter as they embraced their world with enough enthusiasm to match their innocence.
In the seven months they’ve been living with us, Grace has gone from a baby reluctant to crawl to a toddler walking and talking at the speed of curiosity. Keeping up with her big brother fills most of the moments they share. Their work is play, done with the intensity and
short attention span children are famous for bringing to the office day in and day out.
Life’s blessings are truly amazing. They often come disguised as challenges requiring we step outside the box that defines our otherwise comfortable and predictable existence. I say, "bring it on!" After all, love is much more convincing as a verb than a noun.
Today’s Fun Fotos are truly amazing, too. Well, I think so, but as usual, that assessment is as much your call as mine.
