The front lawn, the sidewalk, and the driveway are blanketed in BIG yellow oak leaves. I’m entranced by the sight. It’s like a Monet painting, the rich dabs of colorful leaves collectively rendering the scene a vibrant masterpiece of fall at its finest.
I’ve found inspiration every morning for the last few weeks watching the leaves come down. Some days I watch a handful float gently to earth, their final journey a quiet letting go; still others follow the wind, careening to earth with gusto in their final moments.
Bereft of all her fancy foliage, the big oak stands naked and proud, flaunting her newly acquired vulnerability. She’s been down this road before. With the wisdom of the ages, she knows this too shall pass.
I know you’re looking for some Fun Fotos today. If I don’t get this show on the road, I’m never going to get those leaves raked up before that first snowfall renders the masterpiece a real mess.
