FALL'S QUIET REPOSE

9/24/2014

Picture
Fall; yesterday's news, tomorrow's promise. It's the beginning of the end of another calendar year; what a beautiful way to go, in such a blaze of glory!  I should be so lucky. Underneath that blanket of days gone by is a fleeting thought – make the most of every moment.  Wisdom rarely comes without sacrifice.

Walking these woods covered in colorful memories of life lived to the fullest, I hear the crunch of time, feel what time, and fullest, has done to this body of mine, too.  My own limbs are gnarled with the weight of time.

The air is crisp, offering clarity following the melancholy of summer lost.  Sun-spent, I welcome the quiet repose of fall.
